Case Management

LISA helps you organize, track, and manage all your legal cases in one place.
This section will guide you through creating, assigning, updating, and closing cases.


Creating a Case

To register a new case:

  1. From the main menu, select Cases.
  2. Click on the New Case button.
  3. Fill in the required details:
    • Case Name
    • Case Type (e.g., Civil, Criminal, Family)
    • Client Name & Contact Information
    • Opposing Party details (if available)
    • Case Description
    • Court (optional)
  4. Click Save.

Assigning Cases

After creating a case, you can assign it to a lawyer or advocate:

  1. Open the case from the Cases list.
  2. Click on Assign Case.
  3. Select the team member from the dropdown.
  4. Confirm the assignment.

Assigned users will receive a notification via email or WhatsApp.

Tracking Case Status

Each case has a status to help you track its progress:

  • 🟢 Open – Case is active and ongoing.
  • 🔴 Closed – Case has been completed or resolved.

The case status can be updated at any time by the case creator or an admin.

Adding Tasks to a Case

Tasks help break down case work into manageable steps:

  1. Open a case.
  2. Go to the Tasks tab.
  3. Click Add Task.
  4. Enter:
    • Task Name
    • Task Type (Event, Document, or Other)
    • Due Date
    • Description (optional)
  5. Assign the task to a team member.

Documents & Evidence

Each case can have related documents attached:

  1. Inside the case, go to the Documents section.
  2. Click Upload Document.
  3. Provide a title and upload the file.
  4. The document will now be accessible to assigned users.

Case Reminders

Stay on track with deadlines by setting reminders:

  1. Open a task within the case.
  2. Click Add Reminder.
  3. Choose:
    • Time regime (Minutes, Hours, Days before due date)
    • Channel (Email, SMS, WhatsApp)
  4. Save the reminder.

Closing a Case

When a case is resolved:

  1. Go to the case details page.
  2. Click Close Case.
  3. Confirm the closure.

Once closed, cases remain in the system for auditing and records but can no longer be edited.

Case History & Audit Logs

Every action taken on a case is recorded:

  • Case creation and updates.
  • Assignments and reassignments.
  • Document uploads.
  • Task completions.

Admins can review these logs for accountability.
